Shawna & Lindsay are an epic couple based in the South Bay of Los Angeles who thrive off each other and their adventures.

Name: Lindsay Yocum

Hometown: Irvine, California

Currently Residing: Redondo Beach, California

Favorite outdoor activity/hobby: I love everything outdoors, but I particularly love bodysurfing and snowboarding.

Favorite place you have traveled: El Cruce Del Arroyo Hondo, Dominican Republic – For a few years I traveled to this small, rural town outside of Baní to hold a basketball camp for economically underprivileged youth.

Next trip planned: Yosemite Valley with Shawna and Bodhi to see the fall colors and to take in the epic waterfalls from this years’ record-breaking precipitation.

Why you support Aloha for People: Aloha for People is an action-based, ethical brand that not only spreads Aloha, but also serves the women and youth of a culture that I so closely relate to.

Favorite Aloha for People pattern/shirt:  As connected as I am to the ocean, the Guatemala Earth shirt just seemed so authentic and grounded that I had to have it. I’ll definitely expand my wardrobe to encompass all of them though.

Craziest thing you've ever done: The craziest thing I’ve done is adopting my pittie Bodhi on a whim. I was totally unprepared and he was basically a wild animal, but 7 years later it turned out to be the best decision of my life.

Who/what inspires you: There are so many role models to choose from but I find inspiration in the everyday people that live each day with the intention to make the world a better place. The people who take the time to call their representative, donate time and money to caues, and in general are aware of their impact on the environment and our collective energy.

Name: Shawna Ventimiglia

Hometown: Alton, Illinois (outside of St. Louis, Missouri)

Currently Residing: Redondo Beach, California

Favorite outdoor activity/hobby: Yoga pretty much any and everywhere.  I also have recently gotten into snowboarding which was pretty epic this past year.

Favorite place you have traveled: Oh man, that is a tie.  Barcelona and the (entire) South of France!

Next trip planned: We are headed to Yosemite Valley to see the fall colors I miss from the 4 seasons and to take in the epic waterfalls from this years’ record-breaking precipitation (it is my first time and we may even take Bodhi (our 8 year old Pittie)!

Why you support Aloha for People: It means a lot to me to see a company like Aloha (and so many others) stepping out of the "fast fashion" industry and creating something that we all use daily and giving back to those in such desperate need with clean water and jobs that empower women.

Favorite Aloha for People pattern/shirt: When I saw the new tanks, I was hooked!  I currently have the Ocean Tank but hope they make an Earth one soon!

Craziest thing you've ever done: Almost 3 years ago, I sold all of my stuff and moved across the country to LA with only the things I could fit in the back of my little orange hatchback.  Zoom forward, following Lindsay down double black diamond runs in Mammoth (NBD, only a few tears, I'm FINE)

Who/what inspires you: Professional Moms (how do they get everything done!?) and everyone in the special olympics (seriously, what is our excuse?)
